Countertop ovens · air fry · convection · toaster
The best countertop ovens, ranked on the numbers nobody else publishes.
Air fryer toaster ovens, convection ovens and plain toaster ovens — scored on published wattage, usable interior and what each one costs to run, with the arithmetic shown. Live Amazon prices, every spec cited to the manufacturer's manual, and a plain statement of who should skip each pick. We have not cooked in these ovens, and we say so on every page.

That last number is the point, not an apology. Everyone in this category tells you they roasted forty chickens; we compiled 10 published wattages, did the running-cost arithmetic, and cited the source instead. Here is exactly what we do.

Best overall
Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900BSS)
Score 8.5 · 1,800 W
The most completely documented oven in the category, and the only one at any price whose manufacturer publishes a rated wattage, an interior volume and a full element layout in the same place. You pay roughly four times the category floor for that, and about a third of the premium is the documentation itself.

Best under $200
Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 XL Pro Air Fry Oven (DT201)
Score 8.1 · 1,800 W
The value pick, and it is not close. Same 1,800 W as ovens costing two and a half times more, two full cooking levels, and a published capacity claim — two 12-inch pizzas — that is specific enough to be checkable rather than a vibe.

Best for small kitchens
Ninja Digital Air Fryer & Toaster Oven, 8-in-1 flip-away (SP101)
Score 8.2 · 1,800 W
The one genuine answer to a small kitchen that does not involve giving up power. It flips vertically against the backsplash when you are done, which is a real solution to the only problem this category consistently creates.

Best under $100
Hamilton Beach Easy View XL Toaster Oven with Sure-Crisp Air Fry, 6 Slice
Score 6.3 · wattage not published
Around seventy dollars for a six-slice oven with a real convection fan. At this price the honest framing is that you are buying a toaster oven that also blows air, and that is fine — that is what air frying is.

Least non-stick coating
Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV900BSS)
Score 8.5 · 1,800 W
The most completely documented oven in the category, and the only one at any price whose manufacturer publishes a rated wattage, an interior volume and a full element layout in the same place. You pay roughly four times the category floor for that, and about a third of the premium is the documentation itself.

Best overall
Cuisinart Chef's Convection Toaster Oven (TOB-260N1)
Score 8.6 · 1,800 W
The only oven here whose manufacturer publishes both a wattage and an interior volume in cubic feet on the same page. 0.95 cubic feet at 1,800 W, with a stated list of what fits — a 13-inch pizza, a 9x13 pan, nine slices.

Best for bread
Cuisinart Chef's Convection Toaster Oven (TOB-260N1)
Score 8.6 · 1,800 W
The only oven here whose manufacturer publishes both a wattage and an interior volume in cubic feet on the same page. 0.95 cubic feet at 1,800 W, with a stated list of what fits — a 13-inch pizza, a 9x13 pan, nine slices.

Best overall
Panasonic FlashXpress Toaster Oven (NB-G110P)
Score 7.8 · 1,300 W
The most completely documented oven on this entire site relative to its size: 1,300 W, 120 V, 60 Hz, 7.2 quarts, 250–500°F, exact millimeter dimensions and a stated weight. Panasonic publishes all of it, and almost nobody else does.

Best budget pick
BLACK+DECKER 4-Slice Toaster Oven with Natural Convection (TO1785SG)
Score 7.7 · 1,150 W
1,150 W, 120 V, four slices, a 9-inch pizza and a two-year warranty — all published by BLACK+DECKER on its own site. For sixty-five dollars that is a more complete specification than several ovens here costing three hundred.

Why we're different
What this site does that the others don't
We show the arithmetic
Every running-cost figure renders its own sum — watts, hours, rate — so you can redo it with your own electricity bill. Nobody else in this category joins the wattage to a dollar figure.
Every spec is cited
Each number on a product links to the manufacturer's own manual or spec page. Where a brand publishes nothing, we say “not published” rather than guessing — and the build refuses to ship a spec without a source.
Prices are live, or absent
Prices come straight from Amazon's API and are stamped with the date. After 48 hours without a refresh, the number disappears and the button says “check price”. It never shows you a stale figure.
Every pick says who should skip it
A recommendation with no drawback is an advertisement. Every oven on the site carries a specific “skip this if…” — a real reason a real buyer should walk away.
We didn't cook in them, and we say so
There is no test kitchen behind this site. Instead of a photo of a chicken we did not roast, you get every published number gathered in one place and cited — which you can check, and “the fries were crispier” you cannot.
One byline, honestly framed
Written by an enthusiast who reads the manuals and does the math — not a lab, not a panel of experts we invented. About the site.

How this is funded
Reader-funded, through Amazon
Coil & Convection earns a commission when you buy through our links, as an Amazon Associate. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not decide our rankings — the scoring rubric is published in full, including what disqualifies an oven. Prices are pulled live from Amazon and dated on every page; running costs use the US average residential electricity rate of 18.83¢ per kWh, published by the EIA. Where we cannot verify a number, we say so rather than printing it.
